“The beautiful, solitary guardian of the gates of the Underworld. She lives between one time and another.”
THESE ARE NOT MADE BY ME. I claim no credit to them. I’m just posting these as a collection so that people can use them for reaction gifs.

A Rei body language extravaganza.
On the left, scenes from this episode. On the right, scenes from S.
Because I want to love on how far Rei has come.
Rei and Ami. In this episode, she’s seeing Ami as a tool really, a means to an end. Ami’s comfort is of no consequence. I needed you here, now I need you there, let’s go, move it. Then in S, how attentive she is to Ami’s embarrassment, how aware she is of Ami’s mood. How adorable she finds it! In the first gif, Rei is touching Ami only to shove her along. In the second, she’s touching Ami to give comfort and as a gesture of affection. It’s such a small thing, but it’s something that the Rei in the first gif would never even have dreamed possible.
Then Rei and Usagi. I went into a lot of discussion on the second gif already, and that first gif is the perfect example of what I was talking about. In both instances, it’s Rei moving Usagi from one place to another. But in the first, it’s completely without regard. (Also wanting to point out how Rei is gesturing to Ami. She’s saying “please” but her hand says “Come. Now.” Oh Rei.) The difference between the first and the second is night and day. The first is only annoyance. You’re where you shouldn’t be. “Move out of my way.” In the second, there’s tenderness there, consideration. “Come with me.” These two gifs are everything you need to know about the differences in Rei and Usagi’s friendship from where it started to where it is now.
Everything you need to know about Rei from where she started to where she is now.

Looks like Haruka just got the new Tumblr update too.
She’s got a new mission now.
SACRIFICES MUST BE MADE
Reblog this if you pronounce “.gif” as “GIF.”
NOT JIF,
GIF.
And here is the link for the opposite.
WE SHALL SEE WHICH ONE PREVAILS.
Favorite part of any opening ever.
It’s still technically part of the episode so I can reblog it! ;)
