Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss!
Okay, so I made an idiot of myself today in school

We’re watching the Kenneth Branagh version of Hamlet in my AP Composition class and we got to the play within a play scene where Hamlet says the “country matters” line. For those of you who don’t know, Hamlet had asked to put his head in Ophelia’s lap, which she refuses, and teases her by asking her if she thought he meant “country matters.” Basically, that was old slang for sex (CUNTry matters).

So when that came up I let out this high pitched laugh because I’m a nerd who already knew what that innuendo meant… and I was the ONLY one who knew what that innuendo meant aside from the teacher XD So people looked at me like I was really weird or something, haha.

Oh well, at least I can enjoy Shakespeare’s dirty sex innuendos.

Dreaming at the End of a Century

In the manga series I highly recommended, Dolls by Yumiko Kawahara, the end of volume 2 features a very interesting essay on the nature of femininity, especially in the Victorian era (mainly how passivity was considered the most beautiful). I know it sounds boring, but it’s actually REALLY interesting! If you read the series it really ties into the whole concept of “Plant Dolls” (the beautiful, living dolls featured in the series) and even if you don’t read the manga, it’s still an engaging read. It’s only two pages!
