Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss!
Instead of paying a shitload for an actual plush of Pegasus, I would just buy a generic pegasus plush for like $10 and glue a gem on its face and possibly a golden horn (if it didn’t already have one).
VOILA, INSTA-PEGASUS!!

Today’s featured kiss is Helios kissing Chibiusa’s hand from episode 166, Dreams Forever! Light Throughout the Sky.

After Nehellenia has been sealed and Chibiusa and Usagi make it safely to the ground (with Helios’ help), it is at last time to say goodbye to their new friend. Although no one wants to see Helios go, and Rei even offers to let him stay at the shrine, Helios maintains that he cannot remain in their realm any longer. It is his duty to protect Elysion and the Golden Crystal, and now that the threat has disappeared he must return to his post. Chibiusa is shy to face him after everything they have been through, but Usagi pushes her forward. Before she realizes it, Helios is kneeling before her and kissing her hand. Chibiusa is surprised, but so is everyone else— they comment on how Chibiusa has already surpassed all of them in terms of romance.

The Amazonness Quartet make their final appearance by distracting the girls and Mamoru, claiming that there is a UFO. While no one else is paying attention, Chibiusa runs into Helios’ arms. Soon afterward, he transforms into Pegasus, preparing to make his way back to Elysion. Even as he is flying, the two keep eye contact with each other. Helios apologizes for causing her so much trouble, while Chibiusa is upset that she hasn’t been able to share her true feelings and real dreams with Helios yet. Usagi reassures her, telling her that they will definitely meet again.

This is a moment that speaks to how complex the relationship between Chibiusa and Helios has become. Although he refers to her as “Chibiusa-chan”, suggesting a casual and close relationship, he kisses her hand while kneeling, as if paying respect to a person of royalty. Here Helios recognizes Chibiusa as the Princess she is, the daughter of Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion, the person he serves. This is really the only glimpse of this acknowledgement that we get in the anime. In the manga, Helios is from the beginning seeking a maiden who is both a Princess and Senshi, the link to the Silver and Golden Crystals.

To me, this kiss on the hand is far more meaningful than a normal kiss would have been in this situation. It is more than a declaration of love and care. While it is that, it’s also Helios’ way of showing respect and thanks to the person who saved him and was able to activate the power of the Golden Crystal.

YES, I completely agree, Katie! This kiss on the hand is so much more meaningful than a kiss on the cheek or lips would have been.

Chibiusa is still his maiden. He loves and respects her deeply and he gives her a farewell befitting of a lady. This is extremely meaningful because becoming a lady is Chibiusa’s greatest dream, the thing she aspires most towards: To become a beautiful and graceful lady just like her mother.

We know that Helios was attracted to Chibiusa in the first place because of her shining dream. This may just be me overanalyzing, but not only does he give her a respectful and loving goodbye, he’s also acknowledging her dream. He’s acknowledging her maturity. She’s not a child, she’s not someone who needs to be babied. She is growing into a fine lady who will someday soon need her own prince.

It’s the little things like these. I don’t know how I didn’t ship these two this hard the first few times I watched the series.

Have you ever wondered how confused Chibiusa might have been?

This is before she knew Pegasus was actually a Helios, a boy. Did she ever just go, “Holy hell, am I in love with a horse? What is WRONG with me?!”

Oh God this scene

Oh God this scene

Okay, so
  • Helios is not actually a horse
  • Helios is not actually a horse
  • Helios is not actually a horse
  • Helios is not actually a horse
  • HELIOS IS NOT ACTUALLY A HORSE

He just took the FORM of a horse, meaning he’s a shapeshifter (in the manga, Pegasus is actually his steed). Therefore Chibiusa x Helios is not bestiality. It’s not pedophilia, either. The Materials Collection states that Helios should be considered at or around Chibiusa’s age.

Not to mention Chibiusa is over 900 years old.

So can we PLEASE stop trying to make their relationship creepy?
