Trivia

• This was the last episode in the original anime series.
• A white dress was painted on Usagi’s nude body in the Korean dub.
• The angelic figure that Usagi saw at the start of the episode resembled Sailor Cosmos from the manga.
• Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion were respectively last seen in episodes 166 and 172.
• Although it was broken by Galaxia in episode 199, the Eternal Moon Article was restored here. At one point in the finale, the brooch looked like a golden version of the Crisis Moon Compact.
• Usagi’s monologue at the end was reminiscent of her voiceover at the beginning of the first episode.
• A stripe was missing from Sailor Uranus’ collar as she congratulated Usagi.
• In the teaser before the opening credits, Sailor Galaxia had no shoulder armor.
• A new ending animation sequence was shown, and “Moonlight Densetsu” was played rather than “Kaze mo Sora mo Kitto…”.
• After the ending credits, a message was written on a black screen - “Oshimai da yo” (おしまいだよ). This translates to “It’s the end”. Usagi said “oshimai” while Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako read “da yo” in unison.

Also, I remember seeing a picture of the edited Korean dub a while back and it cracked me up. If Stars had been dubbed they would have painted a freaking bikini on her or something.

This Sailor Cosmos figurine was assembled from a garage kit, unofficial scale model kits which implement polyurethane resins. You must assemble and paint it yourself.

While these projects are fun in the hands of skilled artists, for many of us, we don’t even know where to begin XD

This is actually quite a bit of fridge brilliance as to why Chibi Chibi is able to speak normally in the manga but not in the anime.

In the manga, Chibi Chibi is just a disguised used by Sailor Cosmos. Cosmos needed to get close to Usagi but knew she would be unable to do so as a mysterious adult Senshi; the Sol System Senshi were regarding said outsiders with complete suspicion, given the emergence of Shadow Galactica and the uncertainly surrounding the Starlights. So she chose the form of a sweet, innocent child, one who could barely talk. That was brilliance on her part; who would you rather chose to take in? A cute little girl or an older woman you know nothing about?

Anyway, once everything had been set into motion and Usagi, Kakyuu, and the Starlights were ready to fight, there was no need to keep up the whole facade. She could let herself speak normally, to give out hints and information. She had already gained Usagi’s trust so she could start acting differently than just a little girl. 

In the anime, however, Chibi Chibi is the Light of Hope (in other words, Galaxia’s star seed). It makes a lot of sense for this Chibi Chibi to be more developmentally stunted in terms of speech because she could still just be a small child. What I mean is that unlike in the manga, where she was actually an adult all along, this Chibi Chibi is just a star seed. She’s sentient, but maybe not quite at the level of an adult. Perhaps, even though a star seed may be able to achieve sentience, it may not be developed past that of a child.

Now, in the final episode, Chibi Chibi DOES awaken as the Light of Hope and transforms into an adult (one who looks suspiciously similar to Sailor Cosmos :P) she’s able to speak normally. However, she couldn’t do that until she had actually awakened… in a way, finally realizing who and what she was and what she was there for. Of course, there are tons of hints scattered throughout Stars, but I don’t feel like Chibi Chibi finally completely realizes it for herself until she sees Usagi in mortal danger.

Okay, this has gotten really rambly, but anyway, this thought just dawned on me earlier and I thought I’d share it! :P

Forgotten Senshi.

In ancient Greek mythology, Chaos was the abyss, the confusing nothingness that was the only thing in the universe before the gods and Titans emerged from it. This Chaos was neither good nor evil, rather it was just the ultimate expression of nothingness and the antithesis of Cosmos. Cosmos was used to refer to order, hierarchy, and symmetry; the antithesis of Chaos.

In the final chapter of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, we are introduced to two new characters; Chaos, the embodiment and cause of all of the suffering, disorder, and despair throughout the galaxy, and Sailor Cosmos, the future Sailor Moon who spends her life fighting against it.
