Seriously, I don’t want to be “that guy,” but this joke is getting old. WE GET IT. The storm is named Beryl. Beryl also happens to be a gemstone, which is probably what the storm is named after, not Queen Beryl. I know I sound like a buzzkill, but this is a real threat.

[SENSHI] Sailor Pluto.
Chibiusa ran away in episode 68, and Usagi found her at a construction site. She overheard the child talking to a voice through Luna P. Later, the group learned that the voice “Puu” belonged to a fellow senshi, Sailor Pluto. The tall guardian of the Space-Time Door sent Chibiusa back to the 20th Century to find the past Silver Crystal.
The team first encountered Pluto when Chibiusa was ill in episode 75. She sent the senshi into the girl’s mind to rescue her. Chibiusa took the senshi with her to the future in episode 82. Pluto confused Sailor Moon for an enemy and almost struck her with her Garnet Rod. Chibiusa stopped her, and Pluto gave them all access to the Space-Time Corridor. Pluto assisted the group in finding Chibiusa, who had turned into Black Lady.
During their first physical meeting, the senshi noticed the sorrowful look in Pluto’s eyes. Mercury asked her to come with them to Crystal Tokyo. She replied that she was not allowed to leave her position. Luna mentioned how Queen Serenity told her of Sailor Pluto. The lonely senshi’s mere existence was not to be known of, and very few had ever seen her. Due to her eternal obligation to protect the Space-Time Door, Pluto became a Sailor Senshi long before any of the present day Inners or Outers.
Pluto returned in episode 110 as Setsuna Meiou, and then revealed her true identity in the following episode. She formed the Holy Grail with Uranus and Neptune. Pluto was given permission by Neo Queen Serenity to leave her post to help out in the past.
Pluto joined her Outer comrades in the mission to find the Messiah. She interacted with the Inner Senshi and Chibiusa sometimes. Pluto was less aggressive than Uranus, but she knew that Hotaru had to be dealt with when her Saturn power awakened. Pluto was torn between her sacred duty and her concern for Small Lady.
Mistress 9 ascended, and both senshi teams went to face her in episode 124. The Outers traveled to Mugen Academy by helicopter. The daimon army launched itself at the flying machine, and nearly destroyed it until Pluto performed her forbidden power. She froze time and teleported Uranus and Neptune away from harm. The helicopter blew up and Pluto was presumed to be dead.
Pharaoh 90 was defeated, and Sailor Saturn reverted to a small baby. Chibiusa was playing in the park when a vision of Pluto appeared. She said she no longer had a corporeal body in this world, and explained what happened to Hotaru. Before leaving, Pluto told Small Lady that they would see each other again.
Haruka and Michiru were ambushed by Nehelenia’s monsters in episode 167. Pluto rescued them with Dead Scream. Haruka and Michiru thought that she was dead before this reunion. Pluto had visited Tomoe earlier, and took baby Hotaru away. The child transformed the Outers into Super Sailor Senshi.
Nehelenia abducted Mamoru and placed him under her thrall. The senshi all followed Usagi to the enemy’s nightmare world. In episode 171, Pluto and Venus were teamed up. The time senshi sent Venus to find the princess, and stayed behind to fight the paredri. Venus came back to help her friend, and Pluto dropped her serious demeanor for a moment and smiled.
Pluto didn’t participate in most of the smaller skirmishes with Sailor Galaxia’s minions. She did show up to help Usagi find Chibi Chibi in episode 182. Like Uranus and Neptune, Pluto was initially distrustful of the Starlights. She made sure to keep them away from the princess.
In episode 197, only the Outers and Starlights were left to protect Sailor Moon from Galaxia. Uranus and Neptune switched teams, and they removed Pluto and Saturn’s star seeds. Pluto was resurrected once Galaxia was purified and all star seeds were restored.
In Greek and Japanese mythology, the planet Pluto is associated with the underworld. In 2006, the real Pluto was reassigned as a dwarf planet.
Sailor Pluto’s choker, pleated skirt, boots and sailor collar were all black. Her earrings were red, large and looked like geometric arrow fletchings. The collar had no stripes, and the chest and back bows were a muddy maroon color. On top of the chest bow was a red or maroon brooch. Around the top of her elbow gloves were three black rings. She lacked shoulder pads, and the skirt and back bow attached to a white, padded hip roll at the waist. Pluto’s choker was accented with a red gem attached to a stud hanging from the choker. Her boots looked like Mercury’s except with longer heels. The gem in her tiara was red like her earrings.
In Sailor Stars, she upgraded to Super Sailor Pluto. The main differences to her costume were a longer back bow, a collar stripe, a heart shaped chest brooch, shoulder pads with translucent sleeves, and a gold star in place of the gem on the choker.

[SENSHI] Sailor Saturn.
The final member of the Outer Senshi to be revealed was Sailor Saturn. In the anime, Hotaru showed up in episode 111. Saturn did not make an official debut until episode 125. In the manga, the talismans summoned Saturn.
Hotaru Tomoe was possessed by an evil presence, Mistress 9, that made her body weak and sickly. Her senshi spirit was also hibernating within her, but Mistress 9’s control was too strong. In episode 119, the sign of Saturn appeared on Hotaru’s forehead. The other three Outer Senshi immediately tried to eliminate the girl. Saturn’s appearance was a warning of future peril.
When Mistress 9 was dispelled from Hotaru’s body, Saturn emerged. She first returned Chibiusa’s pure heart crystal that had been stolen in episode 123. Saturn confronted Sailor Moon at the remains of Mugen Academy. She took it upon herself to destroy Pharaoh 90 alone. Sailor Moon couldn’t help unless she advanced to Super Sailor Moon. Armed with her Silence Glaive, Saturn leapt into the growing entity that was Pharaoh 90. With help from the other senshi, Moon transformed into Super Sailor Moon and joined Saturn. After an unseen battle, Moon escaped with baby Hotaru in her arms. Pharaoh 90 was destroyed, and Saturn was reincarnated.
At the beginning of Sailor Stars, Setsuna retrieved the baby from her father. Nehelenia was released and all the senshi were needed. Hotaru upgraded the Outers into their Super Sailor Senshi forms. Tomoe’s age also accelerated, turning her into a child.
Both Sailor Teams traveled to Nehelenia’s nightmare world to find Usagi and Mamoru. Chibimoon and Saturn Nehelenia’s lair in episode 171. In the next installment, Saturn threatened to kill Nehelenia. The dark queen had some knowledge of the senshi, and said that that power was a doubled edged sword. If Saturn invoked her destructive abilities, she too would die. Despite the fact, Saturn was willing to sacrifice herself to save everyone. As the senshi initiated Silence Glaive Surprise, Chibimoon intervened. She didn’t want to see her friend go away again.
With Nehelenia gone, Saturn went on hiatus for the majority of the final season. She only reappeared in episode 196 once Sailor Galaxia’s terror escalated. The Inners were no longer able to protect the princess, and the Outers had to step up. Galaxia explained that she only used Nehelenia to reawaken Saturn. She needed all of the star seeds of the Solar System Senshi. Uranus and Neptune switched sides and took Pluto and Saturn’s star seeds. Sailor Moon was able to defeat Galaxia and revive all of the fallen senshi in episode 120.
Unlike the other Sailor Senshi, Saturn was not designed for smaller skirmishes. As the Senshi of Ruin, she could obliterate ultimate evils. In the manga, it was Saturn that demolished the ravaged Silver Millennium so a new kingdom could be reborn.
Saturn did not have a transformation sequence shown on screen. The only attack she used more than once in the anime was Silence Wall. In the manga, Saturn was capable of using Death Reborn Revolution (デス・リボーン・レボリューション) to hurt an opponent. There, she annihilated Pharaoh 90 with an unvoiced maneuver. All of her powers required the Silence Glaive.
Sailor Saturn’s choker, pleated skirt, knee high boots and sailor collar were all purple. Her earrings were white, planetary shaped and had diamonds dangling on the bottom. The collar had no stripes, and the chest and back bows were maroon. On top of the chest bow was a white brooch that looked like a pure heart crystal. Around the top of her elbow gloves were three purple rings. The top ring had a tip that pointed outward and away from the elbows. Her shoulder pads were feathered and petal-like. The skirt and back bow attached to a white, padded hip roll at the waist. Saturn’s choker was accented with a white hexagram, and the tiara gem was white as well. The purple boots came up to Saturn’s knees and laced up like Jupiter’s.
In Sailor Stars, she upgraded to Super Sailor Saturn. The main differences to her costume were a longer back bow, a collar stripe, a purple heart shaped chest brooch, plain shoulder pads with translucent sleeves, completely rounded elbow rings on the gloves, and a gold star in place of the hexagram on the choker.

[SENSHI] Sailor Neptune.
The Inner Senshi encountered a pair of new Sailor Senshi, Uranus and Neptune, that were after the talismans in S. Uranus was the aggressive one of the duo, and Neptune backed her up at every turn.
Despite her graceful appearance and seemingly gentle persona, Neptune was a fierce fighter with a competitive streak. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask squared off with the two senshi in episode 94 over a pure heart crystal. Neptune elbowed Tuxedo Mask while Uranus kept Moon busy.
In episode 106, a flashback showed Michiru becoming an active senshi before Haruka. She rescued Tenou from a daimon.
After Eudial targeted Minako in episode 109, secret identities were revealed. Neptune joined Uranus in meeting Eudial at the Marine Cathedral in the next two episodes. They were revealed to be two of the three talisman carriers. Neptune fought to save Uranus, but ended up getting shot by Eudial’s extractor gun. Her pure heart turned into the Deep Aqua Mirror, and she on the verge of death. Sailor Pluto separated the pure heart crystals from Uranus and Neptune’s talismans, and they were revived. Together, they formed the Holy Grail, and adopted the mission of finding the Messiah.
With the mirror, Neptune’s extrasensory gifts were enhanced by her Deep Aqua Mirror. It rivaled Sailor Mars’ own innate abilities.
The Outer Senshi discovered that Hotaru Tomoe was Sailor Saturn. They knew that she could not awaken, or the world would be destroyed. Neptune and the others attacked Hotaru in episode 119. Sailor Moon saved her, though.
Hotaru became Mistress 9, and later captured Uranus and Neptune in episode 125. Sailor Moon ignored Neptune and Uranus’ pleas, and handed over the Holy Grail to the enemy. Pharaoh 90 was as quickly eliminated as it was summoned. Haruka and Michiru were angry at Usagi for forfeiting the world’s safety to protect Hotaru. The three senshi faced off, and Moon won. Neptune and Uranus bowed down to their princess.
The Outer Senshi were assigned to guard the planet from foreign invaders. With the Death Busters down, Michiru and Haruka took a break. They returned in the SuperS TV special. The Dead Moon possessed the employees of the hotel the girls were staying at. A thralled maid attempted to push Michiru over a balcony. She stunned the girl, and freed Haruka from a lemures.
Neptune and Uranus came out of hibernation in episode 167. Nehelenia’s army of paredri warriors ambushed them. Pluto came to their aid, and baby Hotaru upgraded the three into Super Sailor Senshi. They united with the Inners to stop Nehelenia.
In episode 180, Neptune and Uranus prevented Sailor Moon and the Starlights from uniting. They considered the trio to be galactic intruders, and didn’t trust them.
Neptune and Uranus aligned with Sailor Galaxia in episode 197. They stole Pluto and Saturn’s star seeds using their new leader’s special bracelets. However, the twosome actually played double agents and went after Galaxia. Neptune and Uranus died together while holding hands. In the end, Usagi resurrected her fallen friends once Chaos was removed.
Sailor Neptune’s choker, pleated skirt, tiara jewel, ear studs, brooch, heels, and sailor collar were all deep sea green. The collar had no stripes. The chest and back bows were navy blue. Around the top of her wrist gloves were three dark sea green rings. Her shoulder pads connected to the bust section, and the skirt and back bow attached to a white, padded hip roll at the waist. Neptune’s choker was accented with a sea green gem sitting on top of a decorative gold cross. Her deep sea green heels had multiple straps like ballet slippers.
In Sailor Stars, she became Super Sailor Neptune. The main differences to her costume were a longer back bow, a collar stripe, a heart shaped chest brooch, one translucent sleeve on each shoulder pad, and a gold star in place of the gem on the choker.

[SENSHI] Sailor Chibimoon.
Sailors Moon and Mars were failing to contain a daimon at a festival, and Uranus and Neptune abandoned them. Suddenly, a familiar voice was heard. It was Chibiusa, and she was wearing a senshi fuku. She used her Pink Moon Stick to subdue the monster long enough for Moon to finish off the monster.
Neo Queen Serenity allowed her daughter to go to the 20th Century to train under the senshi. Chibiusa was given her own Prism Heart Compact and wand to aid in her duties. Chibimoon was quite enthusiastic about fighting, but she required a lot more skill when it came to combat. Like Sailor Moon, Chibimoon mostly flailed or evaded in battle scenarios. Whenever she tried to use her Pink Sugar Heart Attack move, it didn’t always work right away. Once it did, Chibimoon managed to distract or sting the enemy.
On several occasions, she saved the other senshi when they were up against a tough Death Buster villain or monster. Usually this was with Tuxedo Mask’s assistance. In episode 121, Tellu launched a plant attack at Chibimoon, and the small senshi countered with an onslaught of heart shaped energy similar to Moon’s Moon Spiral Heart Attack.
While looking for Hotaru, Chibimoon was kidnapped by Kaolinite in episode 123. She was taken to the Messiah’s lair, and Hotaru forcefully removed the child’s pure heart crystal. Upon consuming it, the girl turned into Mistress 9. Without her crystal, Chibiusa would have died. So, Mamoru combined his life force with his daughter’s until the senshi could stop the Death Busters.
Pharaoh 90 was eliminated, and Chibiusa was going back to the future in episode 127. In the space-time corridor, she changed her mind and turned around. The other senshi were losing to a leftover daimon. Chibimoon’s time portal opened up above, and she fell right onto the monster.
In SuperS, Chibiusa was pushed to the spotlight for storylines. She was befriended by a flying unicorn called Pegasus (the animal form of Helios, the guardian of Elysion). It turned her and Usagi into Super Sailor Senshi. The Dead Moon Circus was after the creature, which hid inside a golden dream mirror. Chibimoon turned out to be the carrier and was captured by the enemy. She and Moon combined their efforts to seal the Dead Moon Circus’ queen, Nehelenia, with Helios’ Golden Crystal. In the season ender, Nehelenia threw an unconscious Chibimoon off of the floating barge that contained the Dead Moon Circus ruins. Sailor Moon jumped after her, and Pegasus saved them both.
At the beginning of the final season, Chibiusa was going to go home permanently. Nehelenia was released from her mirror prison, and she targeted the White Moon family. When Mamoru was placed under the queen’s thrall, Chibiusa began to fade away. Without Usagi and Mamoru’s union, they would never have a daughter. The senshi followed Usagi, who searched for Mamoru in Nehelenia’s realm. Saturn and Chibimoon arrived at Nehelenia’s lair to rescue Mamoru. Saturn was going to use her Silence Glaive to kill Nehelenia until Chibimoon stopped her. She knew that her friend would die, too, and didn’t want that. Chibimoon fell and disappeared as if she never existed. The Sailor Senshi managed to stop Nehelenia, and Chibimoon returned. Chibiusa went to Crystal Tokyo off screen, and was not shown again until episode 198. There, she was in her school fuku, and it was Usagi’s dream sequence. Galaxia took Mamoru’s star seed early on, and he died because of it. Presumably, Chibiusa disappeared, too, until Galaxia was defeated.
Sailor Chibimoon’s choker, pleated skirt, knee high boots, ear studs and sailor collar were all pink. The collar had two stripes like Sailor Moon’s. The chest bow was red, and topped with the Prism Heart Compact. Around the top of her elbow length gloves were two pink rings. Her shoulder pads, with only two scallops, connected to the bust section. The skirt and red back bow attached to a white, padded hip roll at the waist. The jewel in her tiara was red, and white barrettes (like Super Sailor Moon’s) appeared in her hair after the Holy Grail was formed. In her cone shaped hair buns were red, circular accents with white borders. Attached to those were white fittings that looked like rabbit ears. Her pink, flat heeled boots had white edging along the triangular tip below the knee. The choker was affixed with pink heart ornament on the front.
With her new Chibi Moon Compact in SuperS, Chibimoon turned to Super Sailor Chibimoon. The main differences included: yellow collar stripes, a crescent moon in the tiara, large crescent moon earrings, a yellow choker with a red heart, and a larger, white back bow. Her boots featured crescent moons on the triangular tips, and her shoulder sleeves were translucent and wing-like.

[SENSHI] Sailor Venus.
The four Inner Senshi were ambushed by Kunzite and Zoisite in episode 33. A masked girl appeared and saved them. Once she removed her disguise, she revealed herself to be the fifth senshi, Sailor Venus.
While Usagi and Mamoru were captured by Zoisite in the following episode, Minako and her familiar Artemis showed up at the Hikawa Shrine. This was the first time the other girls had seen their new comrade in normal clothes. After the Silver Crystal was acquired, the senshi were lost inside the Dark Kingdom’s warped Star Light Tower. Kunzite attacked them and Venus’ Crescent Beam was deflected like the others’ powers. Sailor Moon saved them all and Venus thanked her after they escaped the tower.
A friend from Minako’s past, Katarina, showed up in Tokyo. She was turned into a youma, Papillon, and attacked Venus. Usagi took Venus away by boat. The senshi told Usagi about her life in London. Minako was fighting as Sailor V, and befriended an Interpol agent, Katarina. She also fell in love with a young man named Alan. When a warehouse blew up with Sailor V inside, Katarina found solace in Alan. Sailor V survived and saw them together. She let them believe that she had died, and moved back to Japan. Sailor Moon was so upset by this that she wanted to kill Papillon. However, Venus convinced her to heal her old friend.
Sailor Venus is often regarded as the leader of the four Inner Senshi. While she never had the strongest powers, she had great presence and authority. Venus was always one to stand up for her princess, and she sometimes initiated group efforts to help her.
In episode 45, the DD Girls met the senshi at D Point in the North Pole. They took out Jupiter and Mercury, and Venus saved Moon from being hurt. She was taken underground and tortured. Venus charged her attack and destroyed a youma point blank. This in turn killed Venus as well. Once the Dark Kingdom was defeated, Minako was reincarnated with no memories of her senshi self until episode 48.
A cardian came after a kindergarten class in episode 52, and Venus had to power up to help Sailor Moon. She unleashed Crescent Beam Shower on the monster.
Minako and Makoto were trapped inside a store by Ayakashi Sisters Calaveras and Petz in episode 65. Already loaded with a new transformation, Venus beat Calaveras’ Dark Beut with her new Venus Love-Me Chain.
In S, Minako went through two personal crises. At first, she was contemplating leaving the Sailor Team when memories of her past resurfaced. Later, she became self-conscious about being the last of the girls to have her pure heart crystal targeted. Coincidentally, Eudial chose her as her next victim. Once her crystal was returned, Sailor Venus broke Eudial’s flamethrower.
Like the other Inner Senshi, Venus took a backstep in storylines in SuperS. Minako’s double date with Hawks Eye and Tigers Eye ended up with her dream mirror being removed. When Venus regained her strength, she punished the two Dead Moon villains with a severe shower of Crescent Beam. In the same season, Venus was upgraded to her super form and she received a new power, Venus Love and Beauty Shock.
Nehelenia returned to hurt the White Moon family in Sailor Stars. When the senshi went to save Mamoru in the evil queen’s world, Venus and Pluto were put together. Pluto told Venus to escape while she held off Nehelenia’s monsters. Venus was running away when she changed her mind, and returned to save her friend. Pluto told Venus that she was a leader.
Venus and the other Inner Senshi sacrificed their star seeds to protect the Starlights in episode 196. Venus told the three that the Starlights and Usagi were both important to them. Every senshi returned when the war was won in good’s favor.
Sailor Venus’ solid choker, pleated skirt, shoes, ear studs and sailor collar were all orange. The collar had one stripe like Sailor Mars’. The chest bow was blue, and topped with a plain orange, circular brooch. Around the top of her elbow length gloves were three orange rings. Her shoulder pads connected to the bust section, and the skirt and yellow back bow attached to a white, padded hip roll at the waist. Venus wore a red bow in her hair, and the jewel in her tiara was orange. Her shoes were plain pumps with ankle straps, rounded toes and short, chunky heels.
In SuperS, Venus was given a Crystal Change Rod. With it, she became Super Sailor Venus. The main differences to her costume were a longer back bow, an orange heart shaped chest brooch, one translucent sleeve on each shoulder pad and a gold star on the choker.

[SENSHI] Sailor Mars.
Rei Hino felt a disturbance at the Hikawa Shrine. During a fire reading, she learned that the evil was coming from Jadeite. He sent her to the dimension with the other girls he kidnapped for energy harvesting. Once there, Rei used the Henshin Pen left behind by Luna to turn into Sailor Mars. Single-handedly, she killed Jadeite’s youma with her Fire Soul.
The addition of Mars to the Sailor Team was necessary as she possessed offensive powers. Also, Mars incorporated her Shinto training, such as ofuda blessing, that helped take out enemies. Her aggression and readiness to engage in physical combat offsets the more timid and hesitant nature of Moon and Mercury.
Sailor Mars was critical of Sailor Moon, and doubted her leadership abilities. However, Moon proved her wrong, and in turn, Mars became more protective of the princess. When the senshi pretended to have a mutiny in episode 43, Usagi gave Rei the Moon Stick to guard. Unable to tolerate seeing Moon being hurt by Kunzite and his youma, Mars was the first to help Moon.
In episode 45, Mars was the last senshi left after the DD Girls finished off Jupiter, Mercury and Venus. Mars was taken underground and tortured by the monsters. Just when a youma went after Sailor Moon above ground, Mars’ fire burst through the ice and eliminated the enemy. Before she died, Mars killed the final DD Girl. Her last words were her wishing that she had kissed Yuuichirou before leaving.
The Inner Senshi and Moon were all reincarnated after the battle with the Dark Kingdom. Sailor Mars invented a new move called Fire Soul Bird when a cardian ruined the cultural festival in episode 54. In the Black Moon Clan arc, Mars faced off with her evil counterpart Koan several times. With her new transformation, Mars unleashed Burning Mandala on the Ayakashi Sister. Later, Mars protected Koan from Jupiter’s strike in episode 70. She felt sorry for Koan, who was both rejected by her leader and exiled from her family.
In SuperS, Pegasus upgraded Mars to her super form, and she possessed the lethal Mars Flame Sniper.
During episode 171, Mars and Neptune were put together. Nehelenia’s minion took Neptune hostage and Mars hesitated to attack. However, the senshi knew that saving the princess was more important than any of the guardians’ lives. She shot Nehelenia’s monster with her fiery arrow without harming Neptune.
Sailor Galaxia’s terror began to expand starting in episode 196. She went after the Starlights, but the Inner Senshi jumped in front. Their star seeds were removed, and each one was fading away. Mars told Moon to be strong, and apologized for not protecting her. Eventually, Mars returned with the other fallen senshi once Galaxia was stopped.
Sailor Mars’ solid choker, pleated skirt, back bow, stilettos and sailor collar were all dark red. The collar had one stripe like Sailor Venus’. The chest bow was purple, and topped with a plain red, circular brooch. Around the top of her elbow length gloves were three red rings. Her shoulder pads connected to the bust section, and the skirt and back bow attached to a white, padded hip roll at the waist. Mars wore red star shaped earrings, and the jewel in her tiara was red as well.
In SuperS, Rei was given a Crystal Change Rod. With it, she became Super Sailor Mars. The main differences to her costume were a longer back bow, a red heart shaped chest brooch, one translucent sleeve on each shoulder pad, a gold star on the choker, and a pair of hexagram earrings.
